Please read the FAQ below to help understand the changes we have implemented.

Do you Sell Gift Cards?

We Sure do…

You can purchase E-Gift Cards here

How do I place an order?

Please go to our Bailey’s Local Foods shop on Open Food Network.

WE NOW HAVE A CHECKOUT BUTTON. You must check out to place your order.

Be sure to add a pickup window or delivery item to your cart. Choose your items and check out.

Items in your cart are not reserved until you check out. If you receive an error due to an inventory conflict, you must remove the sold out item and update your cart before checking out again.

You may place additional orders if needed (please do not add a Pickup Window or Delivery Item to additional orders). We will pack all of your items together; however, you will receive separate invoices.

When the order window closes, the items you have ordered will be gathered on your behalf.

How and when do I pay?

We prefer e-transfer (info@baileyslocalfoods.ca). WiFi is available at First United Church. Alternate payment options are available if needed.

Please *do not send payment before Market Day*, We want to ensure you are only paying for the items that you receive.

Items with variable weights will be adjusted to the actual price on Market Day.  Our prices on the order form are estimated prices for these items.

How to Review my Invoicing?

Packing Slips – This is an example of our Packing Slip. It looks like our old Pick up slip/Invoice.  This is now a working document on Market Day for all Bakery, Pantry and Produce items.  Kitchen items are listed here but are packed separately.
This slip does not reflect your final invoice

Online Invoice – All our invoicing is NOW online.

This is an example of the final invoice we email through Open Food Network (OFN) on Market Day.

Your invoice includes adjusted prices for any variably priced (weighed) kitchen items. Any items you did not receive will be removed and any credits will be applied.

Please refer to your online invoice when reviewing your order. If we have made an error, please let us know so we can correct it for you.

Do you deliver?

We now offer limited delivery due to COVID-19. It’s a two-step process when placing your order.

Step One: Add Delivery to your shopping cart.  It will be the very first item on the Main Order Form page.

Step Two: Select Delivery at check out a $10 fee will be added.  If you choose Delivery at check out without Delivery in your cart, we will not be able to deliver your order.

How Does Delivery Work?

  • It is very likely deliveries will not start until 4:30 pm.
  • Your order will be left at the door, then you will get a call to let you know it is outside.
  • A copy of your invoice will be sent with the total to be E-transferred
  • Please Do Not order Ice Cream or Frozen Fish. They are too delicate to transport as the weather gets warmer.
  • If you have a cooler, it would be great if you could leave it outside your door.
  • If you have any special instructions please let us know when you check out.

How and Where do I pick up my order?

Procedures regarding pick up at the church

  • You will receive a reminder email on Market Day with your pick up time. Please try to arrive during your time slot.
  • You will get an invoice from Open Food Network once your order is packed and totalled with the payment amount so that the number you pay is accurate.
  • If you are walking, we suggest that you bring bags for carrying items home.
  • If you are driving, please park in a way that is safe for pedestrians and physical distancing. The Church lot will be available if needed.
  • If you have many fridge/frozen items, it might be reasonable to have a cooler and ice packs in your vehicle to keep your refrigerated and frozen items at an appropriate temperature until you can put them in the fridge or freezer at home.
  • Delicate items such as Ice Cream and Frozen Fish will not be prepacked. They will be highlighted on your pickup slip and the staff in the kitchen will get them for you as you exit
  • Carts will be clean and ready if needed to help get your order to your car.

**Please see the map below regarding where to enter and exit the church**

Entry to the church will be via the glass doors off the parking lot and exit will be through the kitchen door

Keeping Safe

We will continue to do what we can to keep everyone safe – our farmers, ourselves, our workers and YOU, our customers. We ask for your PATIENCE at the pickup.

  • As First United Church continues to require masking, please wear a mask that covers your nose and mouth.
  • If you are asked to ensure physical distancing, please do.
  • You will be entering through one door and exiting through another.

Please complete that COVID-19 Self-Assessment at https://covid-19.ontario.ca/self-assessment/ if you have any symptoms.

We continue to offer carryout service. Details will be shared in our pickup reminder email.

Delivery is available for a fee at the time that you place your order.

Is there a membership fee?

No, We no longer have a membership fee.  We have decided as part of our 10th Anniversary Celebration to remove our Annual Membership.

Is there a minimum order?

Never has been/never will be. We are already doing the work for many households. Always happy to get whatever you need.

Will I have to buy items I don’t want?

We are not like some co-ops or CSAs where everyone gets the same box of produce. With our “Online Market” we allow you to order what you want and the quantities you want, when you want based on our availability.

How do I add to an order I have already placed?

You may place additional orders if needed.  We will pack them together, However you will have individual invoices.

What if I miss the pick up or forget to pick up my order?

You are responsible for picking up your order. When you complete an order online it is submitted to our suppliers and paid for by us. If you don’t pick up we will contact you to make arrangements to get your order to you.

Do I need to sign up, or can I just pop in?

Unfortunately, we do not have a Spontaneous Table at this time.

**********************************************************

Looking forward to this answer (Please pop in and check us out on one of our pick up days. We always have a spontaneous table that anyone can shop from. Once you see all the items that are available for pre-order, we are sure you will want to be a member too.)

What if a farmer runs out of what I ordered?

We do our best to substitute for a comparable product. If that is not possible we will deduct the cost at checkout. We do not always know until the farmer arrives that they will not be bringing a particular item. They often do not pick their produce until the morning of our pick up day.

Can I create a standing order?

Our offering is always changing so you won’t be able to set a standing order for you. You won’t want to when you see the selection of seasonal items we offer.

How do I get my stuff home

Please bring your own bags. We suggest that you bring a cooler and ice packs to keep your refrigerated and frozen items at an appropriate temperature until you can put them in the fridge or freezer at home. We do have a limited amount of boxes for those who did not bring their own bags.

Can I send someone else to pick up my order?

Of course you can. Please let the person know where to find your pick up slip. If they need help one of our Market Staff will be happy to help them with your order.

How do prices compare?

Our prices are comparable to speciality shops and farmers markets that focus on local and organic foods.

Are you accepting new farmers/producers?

We are always looking for new Farmers and Producers. Please contact us if you are a farmer/producer that may have something to offer.

What do you do with leftover food?

We try very hard to not have anything left over. When we do, we pass it on to someone in the community that could use it. Welcome Home and St. Monica’s House have been recipients of great local produce.

What does “local” mean?

We follow the 100 Mile commitment for any of our products grown or raised. We also support many small food producers in our region. All of their ingredients may not be grown with in 100 miles.  However, we are always encouraging them to use as many local ingredients as possible.

What if I’m not happy with a product?

Please let us know! If you aren’t happy with something received. Your satisfaction is important to us!
